Nike’s 2000s Soccer Cleats Return for Summer 2025

This summer, Nike is reviving the "Total 90" from the 2000s.

Late last year, it declared that "sport and fashion have never been more closely linked."  "Sweethearts, sweatpants, and hoodies have long been lifestyle items worn off the field or in the gym."

The current craze for sports fashion is also a wonderful fit for Nike's newest sneaker trend.  The sportswear company relaunched the Nike Total 90, a soccer cleat that was first introduced in 2000 and was first used on the field by football players like Ronaldinho Gaúcho.

Debuted in 2000 on the soccer field, the Total 90 made its mark on the game. Now it's reimagined for the streets, featuring the original quilted upper and asymmetrical lacing—now paired with a sleek gum rubber sole instead of cleats.

The shoes look contemporary and nearly futuristic, yet they also have a nostalgic, retro feel.  They come in basic black and cream varieties as well as ones with gold and bright orange accents.

The shoe's slender design makes it adaptable and pairs well with loose-fitting denim or breezy summer pants.  The social media influencer "Gramps" also showed off how to outfit the latest Nike sneaker trend, going blokecore with a shirt and leopard leggings.

Additionally, these sneakers go well with beautiful maxi dresses to create a football-inspired ensemble.  It's the perfect pair of shoes to raise excitement for the forthcoming Women's Euro in Switzerland.
